    Abstract:

The research progress about anthocyanin biosynthetic genes cloning, application and exogenous gene transformation of Petunia hybrida were reviewed in this paper. At least 12 enzymes were involved in the petunia anthocyanin biosynthesis.Except AAT and AMT,the most of synthetic enzyme genes, regulatory genes An2,An4 and enzyme activity regulation gene difF,have been cloned.A variety of exogenous color genes such as DFR,F3′5′H,CHS,CHI,CHR and Lc were introduced into petunia, the changes of flower color were observed. Some researchers also reported that the transformants with CHS were male sterility. The application prospects about petunia anthocyanin biosynthetic genes were also discussed.
