The newest progress for the last decade in the research on production of taxol by plant cell engineering was reviewed,including establishment of Taxus cell line,culture conditions of suspension culture,bioreactor culture and regulation of taxol production in cell suspension system.Effects of addition of precursors、inhibitors and elicitors on taxol production were reviewed emphatically.
