Callicarpa japonica var. luxurians Rehd. (Verbenaceae) was reported as a newly recorded variety of Chinese Mainland from Dongfushan Island, Putuo District, Zhejiang Province. The morphological descriptions and photos were provided. Its values on economy and endangered degree were also briefly discussed. The species with a disjunct distribution between Zhoushan Islands, Taiwan and Japan were enumerated and discussed, which indicated that there was a close link between the three floristic regions. The voucher specimens were preserved in the herbarium of Zhejiang A & F University(ZJFC).
