Aongstroemia julacea (Hook.) Mitt., a species of the family Aongstroemiaceae from Xizang is described in China for the first time. Morphological characteristics of this species are described. The habitat, geographical distribution, and morphological comparison with related species are discussed. The illustrations and the key to the Chinese species of Aongstroemia are provided. The voucher specimens are deposited in the herbarium of China Agricultural University (BAU).
