CRISPR/Cas9 technology is an editing tool that can rapidly modify specific DNA of genomic targets. This paper reviews the research progress of CRISPR/Cas9 technology in improving tomato agronomic traits and improving biotic and abiotic stress resistance at home and abroad in recent years, and focuses on some problems faced by CRISPR/Cas9, so as to provide reference for the application of CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology in germplasm innovation and gene function research of tomato.
