    Abstract:

    In the present paper,a new record species Salix rorida Laksch.with a new record section Sect.Daphnella Ser.of the genus Salix (Salicaceae) was described from Altay,Xinjiang,China.This species occurs near the mid-upper stream of Habahe River and its two tributaries,on river bank and artificial channel shore,about 900-1 500 m above sea level.It can be characterized by following features:leaves 3-8 cm long and 0.8-2.5 cm wide;female individuals with bracts oblong,obovate-oblong,obovate-elliptic or obovate,apex acute,and with 3-4 glands on both sides of bract base;male individuals with bracts obovate or obovate oblong,apex acute,rarely sunken,with 2-3 obscure glands on the base of some bracts occasionally.The flowering period ranges from April to May,and fruiting period from May to June,respectively.
